Weekly Math Club at Altamont Elementary
Weekly Math Club at Altamont Creek Elementary
Day/Time: Monday 3:00 - 4:00 pm
Room: 502
Dates: 3/13-5/22
NO Classes: 4/3
Students are going to be segmented by different grade levels, and into batches. This is helpful for math contest preparations. The class focuses on math contest problems(AMC 8, Math Kangaroo, Math Olympiads, MathCounts, and Maths Bee, Noetic etc), logic problems, and problems from different branches of discrete mathematics(Graph theory, combinatorics) segmented by grade levels, topics, and difficulty. We also do a few math related games when time permits. All students registered in class automatically signup for an upcoming math contest (Noetic). The bulk of the class is preparation for some upcoming math contest. The math contest registration is optional, and can be opted out in the registration form when you pay for the class. Students can also take the class without any expectation to compete in the contest. Doing math problems that require critical thinking is its own reward.
